Thank author of this post/comment

You wake up after a very good sleep and you start climbing out of bed. Be very careful! For you are living out the most dangerous time of your day. For the next two hours or so, you could suffer from heart attack or stroke that are two to three times more likely to happen than in the late evening (the safest cardiovascular time of your day).

According to a study, from 6 up to 10 in the morning is the average peak time for many major causes of death; heart disease, cancer, bronchitis and asthma. It is because the human body lives in homeostasis, changing little during daytime. The science of chronobiology – the study of how time affects life – is sparking a medical revolution by revealing how much our bodies change through daily rhythms. While we sleep, our blood pressure falls, our temperature drops from its normal high, then come morning, our body has to “jump start” itself to its waking stage. Heart rate increases and blood pressure raises thus reducing blood’s flow to heart muscles; this may cause sudden death of a person. This kind of risk occurs not because of our bedside clock but of our body clock. Whatever time you get up, your peak risk will come within two to three hours after waking up.

By understanding our biological clock, we can improve our health and reduce the risk of death. Aside from taking in medicine, there are many ways to make your morning less stressful, and perhaps, less risky too. You can set your alarm clock a bit earlier, so you can give yourself enough time to stretch your arms and legs slowly while still lying on the bed. This gets the pooled blood back to moving. Move slowly. Do not subject yourself to the thermal shock of hot or cold shower in the morning as this increase your blood pressure. And, do not skip breakfast. As research says, skipping breakfast may increase your platelet activity and might contribute to heart attack and stroke during morning hours. By turning the cycles of your body clock in your favor, you can reduce the danger and increase the days of your life.
