MedicalGross Negligence in Taiwan's Hospital
When you get sick, the first thing that comes to your mind is to go to an established, credible hospital to seek medical attention from best physicians in the city. For wealthy, important people, they even go across borders and consult doctors from foreign countries. For poor people who cannot even afford to pay hospital bills, they would just seek medical consultations for free from medical doctors in government hospitals and institutions. Whether people obtain a doctor for free or not, the most interesting to note here is that they seek professional help to treat disease. This is how reactive people are when it comes to health. No one would ever want to get sick and feel hopeless and futile in a wheel chair or in a bed. But what about when you go to a hospital to have your illness treated but instead of getting the treatment you pay, you obtain another disease, one this one is even serious for being not curable? This is completely disgusting that you might want to kill the doctor or whoever is responsible for this terrible and serious nightmare that happened. In Taiwan, one of its best hospitals, the National Taiwan University Hospital, just released a confirmation about the five persons who received major organs from a patient who is suffering from AIDS. These five unfortunate patients got the HIV patient's kidneys, heart, liver and lungs. This is very outrageous. Those five unlucky patients had sought transplant to survive from their respective illness. But with the negligence by the staff, they just got another disease, and it's even worst. If I were the patient who got the organ, I would rather die. This is the worst thing that one would imagine to happen. How this condemnable mistake happened is rooted to a gross negligence by a transplant staff who mistakenly heard "non-reactive", instead of "reactive", about the status of the donor's HIV test. The test result was given over the phone and the responsible staff did not conduct further confirmation. This is just a basic effort to double check details that the staff refused to do for whatever reason he could tell. This misdemeanor is now resulting to a worst status of the five recipients of the organs. And this is not funny. You can talk about...
